THERE'S nothing like a touch of sweetness in one’s life for an added dose of flavor. At Bocas Modern Patisserie, desserts aren’t just the cherry on top of one’s day, but rather its highlight.
Owned by husband and wife hospitality duo Chef Jean Louis Leon and Cebuana Mia Singson-Leon, this is a passion project brought to life after years of working in the food and beverage scenes around the world. Eventually, both decided to set up shop in Cebu equipped with a drive to offer the local market something unique.
Bocas was unveiled last June located on the ground floor of the main mall at Banilad Town Centre, Banilad, Cebu City.
Evoking a predominantly industrial-like vibe, the shop’s interior provides a charming setup. With a few quirks here and there, the place is picturesque featuring its own intricate details, including its displayed artworks. With a seating capacity of more than 20, it’s an intimate shop where folks can enjoy their dessert choices while pairing it with a selection of coffee, tea, homemade soda and sparkling wine, to name a few.
A fusion of the classic and contemporary, dessert fanatics can expect at the new shop classic French pastries with a twist as it’s uniquely presented in a modern and stylish fashion. These sweets will be encased in a custom-made vitrine, a glass showcase for all to see. Desserts after all are the main attraction in Bocas, a centerpiece from the display down to the plating.
There’s also a wide selection of flavored ice cream and parfaits, healthy options like non-dairy cakes and homemade jams and other treats for takeaway.
Bocas Modern Patisserie is open daily from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday through Sunday.
