WATCHING a movie isn’t complete unless there’s a bag full of snacks to munch on in the theater. Across the mall’s foodcourt stands Red Lizard Taqueria by the Abaca Group, bringing that Mexican flavor close to the cinemas.
Opened recently, this is Red Lizard’s second branch and another addition to the mall’s continuous list of food choices, with the promise to bring nothing but traditional Mexican flavors and dishes made fresh every day.
Fans of Mexican food have a wide variety to choose from as it has different kinds of dishes available from tacos (crispy or soft flour), taquitos and quesadillas to burritos and masa chips with meats like chicken, chorizo, pork or beef, among others. Pair these with dips like classic bean n’ cheese, Texas-style queso, chunky salsa roja and guacamole.
Plus, it also has arroz a la plancha, a Mexican-style fried rice cooked with an array of spices and chorizo sausage; luncheonette burger; so-cal fries in plain or all the way to fully loaded; and tres diablos nachos machos made with masa chips with all the trimmings and beef as cherry on top—another option for a movie snack.
Then, wash it down with a glass (or pitcher) of mojitos, sodas or cervezas (that means beer).
But whether the urge to eat Mexican food kicks in before, during or after the film, or anytime for that matter—it’ll be just right there waiting. The place seats 90 people with an al fresco area in the outdoor terrace. Its interiors bring an interactive feel as Red Lizard and all its adversarios can be seen everywhere from the walls to the tables and even on the plating. Foodies can also purchase pins of the characters.
Red Lizard Taqueria is located on the fourth level, Ayala Center Cebu and is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m from Sunday to Thursday, and 10 a.m to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
