AYALA Center Cebu culminated its first ever Fashion Homecoming with a silent fashion show last November 17 at The Gallery in celebration of the coming back of Cebuano designers this holiday season.
Fashion Homecoming showcases the creations of Yves Camingue, Jian Lasala, and Harvey Cenit, three young designers who started their careers in Cebu and now among the respected names in the fashion industries of Dubai and Manila.
In an interview, Camingue and Lasala expressed their excitement being in the city after so many years.
"It really is such a great honor to be here and give back to all of the people who really supported me from the start," Lasala said.
"It feels good to go back to your roots, to see people who know you from the start, to see your classmates, to see family, to see friends who saw your struggles from the beginning," Camingue said.
Cenit, however, was not able to attend the event due to conflicting schedules.
The show got its theme from the annual tradition of Filipinos during the holiday season -- coming back to the place you came from.
"Holiday season is always about coming home, about celebrating family, about going to where you came from -- to your roots. That's why we wanted to have the theme Fashion Homecoming," said Ian Virrey, marketing assistant manager of Ayala Cebu. (Reva Alixz Hermosa, USC intern/SunStar Philippines)
