CEBU CITY (Updated 12:46 p.m.) -- A top village official in Cordova town in this city said Wednesday that they are monitoring less than 10 suspected cybersex dens in Barangay Cogon.
Barangay Cogon chief Andres Dinoy said they are stepping up efforts to curb cybersex operations in the village after police busted two cybersex dens in separate operations.
Dinoy said the less than 10 cybersex dens that they continue to monitor are located some 300 meters from the barangay road.
Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) of the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) rescued three minors from an alleged cybersex den in Barangay Cogon in a raid Tuesday
The three minors are 9, 12 and 17 years old. Three other women aged 25, 29, and 31 were also arrested.
Authorities caught the three children doing "lewd acts" in front of a computer-mounted camera.
The three-door wooden house, built last year, stands near a grassy lot. Its jalousie windows are closed, the curtains drawn, whenever cybersex shows are underway, the police said.
He said they are still keeping a close coordination with the National Bureau of Investigation, Children's Legal Bureau, and police to curb the cybersex operations.
He also said they are holding series of meeting with authorities as operations were conducted inside the privacy of homes, making it difficult for them to operate without a search warrant.
Last month, a couple in Cordova grabbed newspaper headlines when agents from the National Bureau of Investigation 7 collared them in a raid inside their house for an alleged cybesex operation, with their five children and their 16-year-old niece as performers. (Sunnex)
