More Cebuano voters cast votes last week

MORE voters cast their votes last May 13 in Cebu Province than on May 10, 2010, according to the Commission on Elections (Comelec). An increase in voter turnout was also observed in the cities of Cebu and Mandaue.

But in Lapu-Lapu City, only 74.36 percent of registered voters—128,898 out of 173,341—cast their votes in 199 clustered precincts, compared to 80.5 percent in 2010.

2 drug suspects arrested

City files case vs Bato folks

P580-M loan for port dredging still on hold

Cabahug wharf resumes operation after capsized cargo vessel towed

THE MV Maria Angelica Grace was removed from the Cabahug private wharf in Barangay Looc, Mandaue City last week, allowing the facility to operate again more than two months after the vessel capsized.

Philippine Coast Guard Cebu Station Commander Weniel Azcuna said the Uni Orient Pearl Venture Inc., the firm hired to salvage the vessel, was able to tow the vessel some 200 meters away, after a failed attempt last month.

Family figures in mishap after southern beach trip

3 men caught for cop’s death
