Capitol sends P100T worth of relief assistance to Mandaue fire victims

IN RESPONSE to the needed assistance of the fire victims in Mandaue City, the Cebu Provincial Government sent about 100,000 worth of assorted goods.
Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia ordered the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PWDO) to immediately send 25 sacks of rice, 10 cartons of meat loaf, 25 sacks of used clothing, 20 cartons of sardines and 100 pieces of family-sized blankets and mats.

Wilson Ramos, PWDO administrative officer, said the food and blankets from the Provincial Government will supplement the Mandaue City Government’s relief assistance to the fire victims in Sitio San Lorenzo, Barangay Jagobiao.
About 200 houses were destroyed in a fire last Monday, rendering more than 100 families homeless.
Damaged to property was pegged at P2 million.
Mandaue City Social Welfare and Development Officer Violeta Cavada submitted to Ramos list of victims, which comprised of 132 house owners and 139 renters and sharers.
