Tuesday, February 14, 2012
TO THIS day, PO1 Allain Abellanosa is still attracted to PO1 Rechel Abellanosa, with whom he has an 11-month-old daughter.
They were married in a civil ceremony in August 2010 but never got the chance to have a church wedding.

Today, Valentine’s Day, Allain and Rechel’s dream to exchange vows at the altar will come true.
The Abellanosas are among 16 couples who will take advantage of the mass church wedding sponsored by the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7.
The ceremony, which will be held at PRO 7’s St. Ignatius chapel, involves 20 police officers.
Supt. Tito Satera, PRO 7 human resource and doctrines development deputy chief, said the police allotted P162,000 for the event, which includes cocktails at the camp canteen.
Glow
Satera, one of the sponsors of the couples who will wed today, said he proposed the mass wedding to PRO 7 Director Marcelo Garbo Jr., who readily agreed.
Allain, who is assigned at Cebu Provincial Police Office-Provincial Public Safety Company said he noticed a different glow in Rechel’s wife when he mentioned the wedding.
Rechel, who is assigned at the Talisay City Police Station, gave birth to their daughter Alliana Zoe shortly after their civil wedding.
“We planned to wed in a church,” said Allain. “But due to financial constraints we were not able to do that.”
The Abellanosas underwent police training together in Balamban.
Rechel told Sun.Star in a separate phone interview why she decided to marry Allain:
“He’s a good provider to the family and he goes to church every Sunday. He brought me closer to God.”
