Lightning kills man fishing off Naga City

A FISHERMAN died after he was struck by lightning in the open sea off Naga City, yesterday morning.
Rolando Lim, 52, a resident of Barangay Cortes, Poblacion, was found dead by his friend, who was also fishing on board another outrigger boat, PO1 Marlon Añabesa told Sun.Star Cebu in a phone interview.
“Ang akung nakita kay nikilat, nya didto sa iyang nahimutangan paingon (I saw lightning strike where Lim was headed),” Añabesa quoted the victim’s friend as saying.
Electrocuted
In another incident, a cable installer’s assistant was electrocuted on a rooftop in Danao City last Wednesday.
Rolando Lazarte Roca, 28, who hails from Cagcagan, Poro, Cebu, was electrocuted when he accidentally slipped on the roof and touched the live wire while removing the main cable of the house.
The Danao City Bureau of Fire Protection Rescue Unit brought him to the Danao City Provincial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the attending physician.
