A MAN who was shot by unidentified assailants in Talisay City last week died last Friday.
Rommel Camasura, who was shot along with Lawaan III tanod Abundio Labitad last Thursday evening, died at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.
Camasura and Labitad were shot by four unidentified men in Ruiz Compound, Barangay Tabunok.
Labitad died immediately after the incident.
The two were suspected hired killers. They were two of five men who allegedly attacked PO3 Arnold Damasco in Barangay Upper Mohon, Talisay City last Thursday afternoon.
Labitad and Camasura were shot two hours after Damasco was shot.
Talisay City Police Office chief Supt. Eddie Recamara said that with Camasura and Labitad dead, police will continue hunting down the other three suspects in Damasco’s shooting.
Recamara said they are now preparing charges against the remaining three suspects.
Earlier, Recamara said the attack on Damasco could be related to the illegal drug trade in Talisay.
Operation
He said Damasco’s shooting occurred a month after the police officer led an operation to arrest suspected Level 2 drug pusher Albert “Apar” Salem.
Salem is currently detained in the Talisay City Jail in Barangay Maghaway after he was arrested in Barangay Tanke last June.
In Argao, Cebu, a man was found floating in the sea, stab wounds in different parts of his body.
The man was unidentified, although two families said they want to check the body.
Dental imprints
Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) Director Patrocinio Comendador said they will check the dental imprints of the victim to identify him.
He said the first family who wanted to verify the victim’s identity came from Labangon, Cebu City, while the second is from Negros Oriental.
Ivan Puerto, who was on his way home after going fishing, discovered the man’s body at 7 a.m.
He said the body was already decomposing when he found it.
He also saw bruises on the body.
