Blessed Pedro’s image to visit dioceses after canonization

AFTER Blessed Pedro Calungsod’s canonization, his official image will be brought to dioceses nationwide, said an official of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP).
Fr. Marvin Mejia, CBCP assistant secretary general, told Sun.Star Cebu that the "Duaw Nasud" would start on Oct. 26 or just a few days after the canonization of the Visayan martyr.
Last February, Pope Benedict XVI announced that Calungsod, a lay catechist, will be one of seven blessed or beatified persons to be canonized or recognized as saints on Oct. 21, 2012 in Vatican City.
Mejia said Calungsod’s statue will arrive in Manila from Rome on Oct. 25. The
nationwide pilgrimage will begin the following day in Metro Manila, in the dioceses of Cubao, Parañaque and Makati, until Nov. 2.
The delegation will then proceed to Vigan, Bicol and to Legazpi from Nov. 3 to 12.
The pilgrimage schedule will be:
•Nov. 13-Catarman, Samar province
•Nov. 14 - Catbalogan, Samar and Palo, Leyte
•Nov. 15 - Ormoc, Leyte (tentative); Maasin, Leyte
•Nov. 16 - San Ricardo, Leyte to Surigao (overnight)
•Nov. 17 – Butuan
•Nov. 18-Cagayan de Oro
•Nov. 19 - Iligan (stopover), Pagadian (stop over), Ozamis (overnight)
•Nov. 20 - Dipolog
•Nov. 21 - Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental
•Nov. 22 - Kabankalan, Negros Occidental; Bacolod City
•Nov. 23 - Jaro, Iloilo (overnight)
•Nov. 24 - San Carlos City, Negros Occidental
•Nov. 25 - (tentative) helicopter to Tagbilaran City, Bohol
•Nov. 26 - Talibon, Bohol
The image will return on Nov. 27 to Cebu City for the start of the triduum mass for the National Thanksgiving Mass at the South Road Properties.
