Sun.Star launches Sona ‘like’ and share promo

CEBU CITY -- Sun.Star website at www.sunstar.com.ph is once again giving away cool prizes -- this time to readers who will help spread the news about President Benigno Aquino III’s State of the Nation Address (Sona) on social media.

President Aquino will deliver his Sona on Monday, July 23. Sun.Star, being one of the top news websites in the Philippines, will cover this state affair considered one of the most significant in the country’s history.

Live streaming, an interactive timeline of Aquino’s speech, and multimedia reports are just among the highlights of this year’s coverage.

All these and the social media campaign, which will be done on Facebook and Twitter starting July 20 until July 25, aim to make the experience of watching the President deliver his address to nation more exciting and fun.

The social media campaign also aims to encourage interaction among Sun.Star’s readers online. The prizes at stake for this promo are Sun.Star commemorative USB (2GB) for winners based in Cebu, and one-month subscription to Sun.Star Cebu or SuperBalita Cebu electronic papers for those who are outside the Queen City of the South.

The mechanics:

On Facebook, participants should share or comment on the posts or updates related to President Aquino’s Sona. Every share and comment is equivalent to one raffle entry. So the more you comment on or share the story, the more your chances of winning.

It is a requirement though for participants to like the Sun.Star - Philippine News page on Facebook.

Another way to win is through micro-blogging site Twitter. Just follow @sunstaronline, retweet any Sun.Star post related to Sona and use the hashtag #Sona2012.

Every mention, retweet and use of the hashtag entitles you to a raffle entry. So the more you mention @sunstaronline, retweet its posts, or use the #Sona2012 hashtag, the more your chances of winning our cool prizes.

Only Sona articles posted on July 20 to July 25 may be retweeted, commented on, or shared. The campaign will end at 5 p.m. of July 25, so shares, retweets and comments made beyond this hour will not be entertained.

Sun.Star will pick the winners through an electronic raffle. Winners will be announced right after the raffle.

Winners of the Sun.Star commemorative USB can pick up their prize at Sun.Star Cebu office at P. del Rosario St., corner Don Pedro Qui St. in Cebu City.

Those who will win a one-month free subscription to the Sun.Star epapers will be notified through Facebook and Twitter on what to do to claim their prize.
