SOME 1,500 Capitol employees will receive a P15,000 collective negotiation agreement (CNA) bonus as part of Cebu Province’s 443rd founding anniversary celebration.
On top of that, they will also get a performance bonus that will be based on individual performance.
An employee who gets a “very satisfactory rating” will receive P15,000. An employee who gets a “satisfactory rating” will get P10,000.
“Good work will be rewarded,” said Gov. Gwen Garcia yesterday.
Provincial Board (PB) officials will receive the same bonuses.
Provincial Budget Officer Emme Gingoyon said P23.6 million for the CNA bonus and P15 million for the performance bonus will be included in the supplemental budget that the PB will pass.
The Capitol also distributed five kilos of rice, a bag of sweet potatoes and canned goods to each employee.
Positive changes
The governor, in a speech, said the Province has undergone many positive changes since she first sat in office in 2004.
“Kining tanan atong nakab-ot dili lamang tungod sa usa ka taw. Nakab-ot kining kalampusan, nakab-ot kining talagsaong kalambuan tungod sa pakigtamabayayaong natong tanan (But we didn’t achieve these things because of only one person. It was a group effort),” Garcia said.
She also cited the change in Capitol employees’ work attitude.
She said when she was a consultant the employees would visit the malls during office hours, while others would turn their offices into makeshift beauty parlors.
Yesterday, Capitol employees were also treated to a dance competition among different departments.
The executive team, which includes members from the offices of the governor and provincial tourism, was declared champion for its performance of a hip hop dance. The team received a cash prize of P35,000.
Legislative personnel, who performed a Broadway number, came in second. The Provincial Planning and Development Office led by Provincial Engineer Adolfo Quiroga came in third with their “cha-cha” rendition.
