AN 18-YEAR-OLD wo-man was shot dead in Carcar City, Cebu last Wednesday dawn.
Two unidentified men on board a motorcycle were tagged as the killers of victim Mysa Plarisan.
According to initial investigation, Plarisan was on her way home after a drinking spree with friends at the plaza.
When she passed a videoke house on Dr. Cesar St. in Poblacion 1, the two unidentified men confronted her.
Plarisan fought back, angering them.
Before leaving the area, one of the men allegedly told Plarisan: “Huwata ko kay balikon tika (Wait for me because I’m coming back for you).”
Plarisan went inside the videoke house to join her friends.
Moments later, the two men returned on board a motorcycle and called out to Plarisan.
The passenger started shooting at her several times. She was hit in the chest and the arm.
Possible motive
Plarisan was rushed to the Carcar Provincial Hospital, but she was later pronounced dead by the attending physician.
Police said they’re looking at a love triangle as a possible motive for the shooting. They received reports that Plarisan knew her killers.
Plarisan was the 10th shooting victim in the southern component city since Carl Vinson, the youngest son of Mayor Nicepuro Apura, was shot dead in Sitio Tubod, Barangay Valladolid last May 13.
In another incident last Wednesday night, Carlos Salariana, 26, was stabbed dead in Sitio Kayapokayapukan, Barangay Manlapay, Dalaguete, Cebu.
The victim was on his way home with friends, when suspect Odon “Budok” Carulasan confronted the victim.
“Magdaog na jud ta diri (We will finally settle it here),” he allegedly told Salariana before attacking him with knife.
Despite stab wounds in the left arm and chest, Salariana was able to run. Carulasan allegedly went after him and managed to stab him in the back several times.
The suspect fled right after.
Salariana was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
Police said they received reports that the victim was having an affair with the wife of the suspect’s brother.
Yesterday morning, Carulasan surrendered to police. (Darling Dame G. Imon, SWU Mass Comm intern)
