CEBU City Mayor Michael Rama disclosed yesterday that they will field at Annabelle Rama as congressional candidate in the city’s north district in next year’s elections.
Rama said Annabelle has been included in the Team Rama’s probable candidates, along with other aspirants.
This came after the Rama clan and Annabelle’s immediate family expressed their full support to the 60-year-old Cebuana showbiz talent manager.
Rama said if there will be no hitches in the filing of the certificate of candidacy (COC), Team Rama will field Annabelle against Rep. Cutie de Mar or former congressman Raul del Mar.
Annabelle, who filed an application for registration before the Cebu City Comelec north district three months ago, has started joining the Team Rama gatherings.
She was with the group in its visit to Barangays Lahug, Bacayan, Busay and Sambag I.
Rama said he is excited that his cousin is serious in joining Team Rama. He said she will be an added attraction for the group.
“Nindot kaayo ning duwaa. Lingaw ko ani. Ingon man gud sila nga way makig-kontra, mahadlok, unya kay si Annabelle willing man (I’m excited),” Rama said.
Rama said they will finalize their lineup before the filing of the COC in October.
Meanwhile, Rama took a potshot at his political opponents following the admission of Vice Mayor Joy Augustus Young that their supporters were responsible for the plastering of “Type Angry O Ko” posters.
Young earlier said their supporters designed the posters to express their criticism on the alleged inefficiencies of the Rama administration.
Rama said his political opponents are into black propaganda, ridicule and mockery.
“They’re showing that they’re no longer decent people, and why should they be reelected? Why should they be allowed to go back?” Rama asked.
