Mandaue awards City Hall, barangay, police personnel

THE Mandaue City Government recognized its outstanding employees during its 43rd Charter Day celebration last Thursday night.

The City also honored its longest serving employee, treasury officer Erlinda Balansag. Balansag, 62, who is assigned at the business and licensing division of the City Treasurer’s Office, has worked at City Hall for 43 years.

Mandaue Police Station 3, headed by Insp. Wilson Abot, was recognized as an outstanding police station.

The awardees received plaques and P3,000.

During the awarding ceremony, Mayor Jonas Cortes urged his constituents to work together to achieve an “outstanding Mandaue.”

“As we celebrate this Charter Day, let us pool our efforts to make Mandaue a city of profound significance to the lives of all those who compose it,” Cortes said.

City and barangay employees attended the awarding night at the Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex.

The celebration started with a foot and float parade, and ended with a fireworks display and live band performances.

Deputy Speaker Lorenzo Tañada III served as guest speaker.

Also present at the event were Cebu Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale; Board Members Thadeu Ouano and Arleigh Sitoy; and Cordova Mayor Adelino Sitoy

Awardees

The outstanding employees were: engineer Dario Mago (department head); engineer Marivic Cabigas (regular employee); Rosamier Demana (job order employee); Wilfredo Yaun (Clean and Green employee); Analiza Rossel (barangay health nutrition worker); Felipe Gervise (traffic enforcer); Gloria Baay (daycare worker); Mark Tuñacao (janitorial and security services unit personnel); Andres Suson (barangay captain);
Josefina Rosal (barangay councilor); Gina Muaña (barangay secretary); Rodulfo Lepiten (barangay tanod); Police Supt. James Goforth (commissioned police officer); SPO4 Sergio Tomaquin (non-commissioned police officer); SJ03 Lovella Lim (jail officer); Louwela Guerrero (elementary school teacher); Vie Ryan Amamangpang (public high school teacher); Rosalina Gonzales (elementary school head); Jaime Ruelan (secondary school head); and Elaine Aragon (national employee).

Winners of the outstanding Lupong Tagapamayapa were: Barangay Ibabao (first place); Barangay Canduman (second place); Barangay Pagsabungan (third place); and Barangay Paknaan (fourth place).
