Teen shot dead while sleeping

A TEENAGER was shot dead in Sitio Kinalumsan, Barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City yesterday dawn.

Police identified the victim as Jessie Aton, 15, a scavenger and resident of Barangay Marigondon.

He sustained a gunshot wound in his forehead and his right hand, said PO1 Jomar Florentino of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office Homicide Section.

Florentino said the victim and his three friends were sleeping inside a jeepney when he was shot by an unidentified assailant.

When the jeepney driver awakened them around 4:30 a.m., John Michael Rio, 14, BJ Baguio, 14, and Archel Cosep, 16, saw the victim bathed in his own blood.

Efren Montillano, 54, the jeepney driver, will be investigated after he had the body removed from the vehicle even before the police arrived at the crime scene.

Another teenager was shot dead in Barangay Poblacion last Sunday dawn.

The police identified the victim as Nonilon Resviteru, 19, a second year high school student and a resident of Purok Apitong, Barangay Poblacion.

PO1 Jade Querubinsaid the victim was shot in the face outside a videoke bar on Punta Rizal St. around 4 a.m.

The victim was standing outside the bar with some female bar workers when two men on board a black motorcycle stopped near them. After shooting the victim, the assailants drove away.

The police are still investigating the motive for the attack.
