FAST-FOOD joints have recently become the haunting ground for thieves, who prey on women.
Maria Camomot, 48, was eating in a fast-food joint on Osmeña Blvd., Barangay Sto. Niño, Cebu City at 6 a.m. last Wednesday when someone took her bag.
The bag allegedly contained cellular phones, ATM cards and cash amounting to P11,000.
Theft and Robbery Section Chief Rolando Pinili said the thief was seen on the closed-circuit television inside the restaurant.
He said the man wore a yellow T-shirt, white bull cap and slippers.
Same culprit
It was the same man who stole the iPad of Cebu City Councilor Jose Daluz III inside a downtown restaurant last Tuesday, he said.
“In not less than 24 hours, nangawat nasad siya (the thief struck again), victimizing two victims,” Pinili said.
Pinili said they are still looking into the matter.
Yesterday, two suspects were arrested after they were caught allegedly stealing the bag of Ferlyn Booc, 50, inside a fast-food joint in a mall in Cebu City around 3:30 p.m. yesterday.
Angiela Alcantara, 50, of Tondo, Manila, and Dante Bairulla, 41, of Cavite, were placed under citizen’s arrest.
Their companion, a Yolo Manda who hails from Davao City, eluded arrest.
The bag reportedly contained three cellular phones worth P19,000 and cash amounting to P17,490.
A case of theft will be filed against Alcantara and Bairulla, while police continue to look for Manda who is at large.
