Cop ‘mauls’ fellow PRO 7 officer-A A +A

A POLICE official allegedly mauled a non-commissioned police officer during a flag-raising in the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Visayas last Thursday morning.
SPO4 Fermin Dunque, chief clerk of PRO 7’s Region Personnel and Human Resource Development Division, was reportedly punched and kicked by Supt. Marvin Sanchez of the Firearms, Explosives, Security Agencies and Guards Supervision Section (Fesagss).
The incident allegedly happened at the PRO 7 grounds.
But Senior Supt. Orlando Ualat, the PRO’s chief of staff, denied the report and said Dunque and Sanchez just had a misunderstanding.
He said Sanchez did not maul Dunque.
Unverified reports said Sanchez pointed a gun at Dunque.
Both parties declined to comment as their feud was settled later that day.
Sanchez told the media yesterday what they had with Dunque was just a matter of differences. He refused to elaborate.
Dunque could not be contacted at his office at the PRO 7.
Ualat said Sanchez might have scolded Dunque over work-related matters.
SPO4 Efren Hermosa, PRO 7’s executive senior police officer chief, said they might hold a conference with all chief clerks in PRO 7 next week.
He said in the conference, the clerks will discuss their working environment to prevent a similar incident from happening in the future.
Sun.Star Cebu tried to contact PRO 7 Director Marcelo Garbo Jr., but he could not be reached as of yesterday.
