Province distributes checks to 15 barangays in Moalboal

CAPITOL yesterday gave a total of P2.5 million as financial aid for the construction and rehabilitation of health centers in 15 barangays in Moalboal.
Before the distribution of aid, Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia led the oath-taking of about 5,000 local government officials, household leaders, women’s federation representatives, senior citizens, barangay councilors and tanods in the town as One Cebu Party members.
It was the first visit of former Danao City vice mayor Ramon “Boboy” Durano IV as vice gubernatorial aspirant.
Durano was introduced by Rep. Pablo John Garcia (Cebu, third district) as his runningmate. Pablo John announced his plan to become the next Cebu governor, while Gwendolyn, his sister, is aiming for the Senate.
Each of the 15 barangays in Moalboal received P100,000 while Mayor Inocentes Cabaron received a check for P500,000, which is meant for the concreting of municipal roads.
Projects
The mayor also received P200,000 for the improvement and development of the town’s heritage park and P300,000 for socio-cultural activities, Cabaron received checks worth P200,000 and P300,000.
The Capitol also distributed a total of 8,462 sets of school supplies for the Moalboal Central Elementary School.
The governor also led the inauguration of the municipal birthing and health center at Poblacion, which is worth P800,000.
The Capitol also handed Philhealth and accident insurance policies.
When addressing the new members of One Cebu, Congressman Garcia said the party is created by Cebuanos for Cebuanos.
“Liberal, Nacionalista, kana sila dili mana minugna, di mana gipanag-iya sa mga Sugbuanon. Kana sila ang mga lider tua sa kaulohan (Liberal and Nacionalista were not created by Cebuanos. Their leaders are in Manila),” he said.
Rep. Pablo Garcia (Cebu, second district) urged town residents to support his son Pablo John and Durano.
Meanwhile, Cabaron and Vice Mayor Nelson Abenido, who will both seek reelection, announced their lineup for the 2013 polls. They are Evon Cabaron, Lino Diniega, Peddy Abrenica, Albert Tabañag, Radyboy Tejero, Lito Sebumpan, Jinky Hanika and Doming Balbuena.
