A FORMER taxi driver was gunned down by motorcycle-riding men in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City early yesterday morning.
Rogen Estremos died of gunshot wounds in the head and body.
PO3 Joel Osabel of Canduman Police Station told Sun.Star Cebu that the suspects were following Estremos, who had just dropped off his wife for work at an electronics manufacturing plant in Danao City.
Witnesses told the police that the rider of the motorcycle pulled out a firearm and fired at Estremos. They could not see the man’s face as he was wearing a mask.
Four empty shells of .45 pistol were recovered at the crime scene.
Estremos' wife told the police that her husband did not have enemies.
In a separate incident, a man who tried to show kindness got shot in Barangay Awihao in Toledo City, Cebu last Monday night.
Ricardo Dequiñon, 30, sustained gunshot wounds in his left forearm, arm and armpit.
SPO1 Jerson Lebumfacil of Toledo City Police Station said Dequiñon offered to help his neighbor Demor Ebeza, who crashed his motorcycle at 7:45 p.m.
“Gipusil nalang siya ug kalit (Ebeza allegedly shot him for no reason),” the police officer said.
The suspect left the neighborhood while the victim was brought to a nearby hospital and later transferred to Cebu City for further treatment.
Lebumfacil said Ebeza and Dequiñon bore grudges against each other.
