Road mishap in Naga City injures 7

SEVEN persons, including a pregnant woman, were injured after the bus they were riding hit a parked 10-wheeler truck in Barangay Inoburan, Naga City, Cebu yesterday dawn.
PO3 James Cañete of Naga City Police Station told Sun.Star Cebu the incident happened past 4 a.m. while the Ceres bus was on its way to Cebu City from Bato, Oslob.
Injured were Rita Remonida, 34, who is six months pregnant; Charice Remonida, 13, Raiza Remonida, 11; Derelos Javier, 23; Lyndon Magno, 30; Cristuta Owakan, 35; and Oscar Ong, 64.
They were seated in the right side of the bus that hit the left side of the truck.
The bus driver was identified as Indino Mangubay.
Cañete said the victims were rushed to the South General Hospital and are recuperating.
Excuse
Mangubay, when interviewed by police, said he didn’t see the truck because it was still dark.
“Wala siya kabantay unya kusog sad ug dagan (And he was driving fast),” Cañete said, quoting the bus driver.
Gary Panilagao of Barangay Tinaan, Naga City, the truck’s driver, said he parked the truck by the road to have breakfast.
“Nangape kuno siya unya naa man gyud siya sa daplin sa dan. Wala nalang siya nagbutang ug warning signal (He didn’t bother to place a warning signal since he was by the roadside),” Cañete said, quoting Panilagao.
A complaint of reckless imprudence resulting to multiple physical injuries and damage to property will be filed against Mangubay.
