2 fires hit 7 houses, 3 vehicles

TWO fires razed seven houses and three vehicles, and wounded a security guard in Lapu-Lapu City last Saturday afternoon.
The first fire occurred in Sitio Saac, Barangay Buaya past 1 p.m. Four houses were damaged in the fire, which was blamed on electrical misuse.
Casiano Panuan Jr., 29, a security guard, suffered first-degree burns in his upper body and back when he attempted to save some valuables from his house.
The three other houses were owned by Rosendo Panuan, Rachelle Cuizon and Emiliano del Castillo.
The Lapu-Lapu City Fire District controlled the fire in two minutes. The fire was put out at 2:20 p.m.
The fire investigator estimated the cost of damage at P30,000.
The second fire occurred in Sitio Mustang, Barangay Pusok past 5 p.m.
Fire investigators said a rechargeable bulb that overheated caused the fire, which burned three houses, a multicab and two motorcycles.
The houses were owned by siblings Loreto, Emilia and Emilio Beriso. The multicab and one of the motorcycles were owned by Emilio. The other motorcycle was owned by Emilia.
The fire was controlled in two minutes, and was put out at 6:45 p.m. The cost of damage was estimated at P130,000.
