Spiritual recollection set for election bets

THE Dilaab Movement, in partnership with Couples for Christ-Cebu, will conduct a recollection for political aspirants of the 2013 elections this Sept. 30.
Fr. Carmelo Diola, head of the Dilaab Movement, said the purpose of the recollection is to help the politicians realize that public service is a vocation and a call of God to serve others.
“Mahigmata atong mga politiko nga bokasyon kana ug kung ang Ginoo gani ang nagtawag nila kinahanglan sundon nila ang plano sa Ginoo (This is to open the eyes of the politicians that it is a vocation and if God calls them for public service, they should follow it),” Fr. Diola said.
He discouraged the politicians from vote-buying because it is an immoral act.
“Moingon sila mapildi man mi kung di mi mopalit. Kung gitawag gyud ka sa Ginoo ang Ginoo ang bahala nimo unya ang mga taw motabang nimo (Others would say that they might lose if they will not do buy votes. If it is the will of God, then He’ll be there and the people will help him),” Fr. Diola said.
He said they will give out a letter of invitation to the officials and political aspirants tomorrow.
Diola said this is open to all political aspirants.
The Dilaab movement started this activity last 2010 election.
The movement gave recollection for 15 groups around the country and there are two or three groups in Cebu, including the political aspirants’ recollection.
Fr. Diola said there are politicians who already confirmed to join the recollection, but he did not mention the names as well as the venue of the activity.
He said they will call for a press conference about the event soon.
