A 54-YEAR-OLD woman was arrested in a buy-bust conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7 in Barangay Pasil, Cebu City last Friday afternoon.
Brigida “Bebe” Cagado, 54, whom the operatives claimed is a level 2 category drug pusher or someone who can allegedly sell 200 grams of shabu a week, was arrested at 3 p.m. inside her house.
She was described by PDEA 7 as a “drug queen” in Pasil.
A total of 58 packs of suspected shabu were confiscated by the operatives.
Intelligence Officer 2 Bon Tecson of PDEA 7 said that the confiscated illegal drugs have a market value of P14,900.
Cagado, in an interview, admitted her involvement in the illegal drugs. She said she gets her drug supply from a certain “Bakang.” She said that these drugs were sourced from Manila.
She said her being jobless has prompted her to engage in the illegal drug trade since 2000. Cagado said she can earn at least P20,000 a week from selling drugs.
Last year, Cagado said she was jailed for a drug-related charge but she was later released after the case was dismissed.
Tecson said that they placed Cagado under surveillance for a month after receiving reports about her alleged illegal drug trade in Pasil.
A complaint will be filed against Cagado for violating Republic Act 9165, or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Cagado is detained at the PDEA 7 detention cell.
