A CASE of qualified theft will be filed today by the Theft and Robbery Section (TRS) of the Cebu City Police Office against the man who tried to run away with the payroll money of the company he works for.
TRS operatives said they will still have to investigate the case further since the money that was recovered from Louie Rosales, 19, was lacking.
Rosales allegedly stole P400,000 from his company, but the money that was recovered was only P301,000.
The suspect allegedly tried to settle the case with his employer, Camella Homes located in Gorordo Ave., Cebu City. But the company is intent on filing a case.
Not complete
“It is possible that he spent the money, that is why the money he returned is not complete,” said SPO2 Marlon Mendoza of TRS.
Rosales allegedly stole the money last Friday.
An operation by a TRS team led by Insp. Rolando Pinili led to Rosales’ arrest.
Temptation
Rosales, in an interview with the media, said the amount entrusted to him was too much to resist.
He said he worked in the company as purchaser, and that sometimes the company’s payroll money was entrusted to him.
The money was recovered in a hotel on Juan Luna St., Cebu City.
Mendoza said the money was placed in the black bag hidden underneath the bed inside a hotel room.
Randy Badayos, Camella Homes site engineer, said he thought of Rosales as a diligent worker.
Rosales worked in the company for six months already, said Badayos.
