Davide to revive farmer’s program

LIBERAL Party gubernatorial aspirant Hilario Davide III said he will focus on agriculture to help towns develop.
He said he will also consult the people on what project is best for them.
“I will revive the Farmers’ Scientists Training Program,” he said, referring to a program that his uncle Romulo Davide, a Magsaysay awardee, started.
His uncle was once a Capitol consultant on agriculture. His agricultural projects were successful in terms of yield. The products of his program are chemical-free too. But the Capitol cut short his services.
The gubernatorial aspirant said, “(People at the Capitol) suspect he (his uncle) campaigned for me during the election.”
“I will make towns rank higher, like from fifth-class municipalities to second class municipalities, or even first class. Which is why agriculture is very important,” Davide said.
Public funds should be returned to the people in terms of projects, he said.
At present, it is the administration who chooses the project for the towns, he said.
Davide said, “Ang mga tawo ang pabut-on because they know what’s good for them.”
