Radaza denies supporting Cordova bet

LAPU-LAPU City Mayor Paz Radaza strongly denied Cordova Mayor Adelino Sitoy’s allegations that she and her family are supporting the candidacy of his opponent.
But Radaza’s husband, Lapu-Lapu City Rep. Arturo “Boy” Radaza, said yesterday that despite Sitoy’s statements against him and his family, he remains calm and still considers the Cordova mayor as a close friend.
During a press conference yesterday, the Lapu-Lapu City mayor denied they are supporting the candidacy of boxing promoter Rex “Wakee” Salud for Cordova town mayor, as alleged by Sitoy.
Upset
Radaza was reportedly upset over Sitoy’s allegations that they were allegedly supporting Salud’s candidacy to push for the creation of a Mactan Province and to turn
it into a “masiao capital.”
The Lapu-Lapu City mayor advised Sitoy to focus his energies on campaigning against Salud rather than on her and her family.
Radaza was further peeved when Sitoy questioned the credibility of her daughter, Aileen, who is aiming to replace her father as Lapu-Lapu City district representative.
“Kasayo niya nga nanira hasta ang akong anak iya nang giapil (His attacks are too early and even included my daughter),” Radaza added.
Her husband, the incumbent Lapu-Lapu City district representative, remains calm despite allegations made by his “kumpare.”
He also denied allegations that he is supporting Salud’s candidacy as Cordova town mayor.
“Wala ingon nipaluyo, aduna ray higayon nga nangutana siya (Wakee) kon asa nga venue mahimo niyang i-celebrate ang iyang birthday niadtong Septyembre,” Rep. Radaza told reporters.
Sentiment
As to allegations made by Sitoy that he plans to create a separate province with Salud’s help, the Lapu-Lapu City congressman said the city can become a province even without Cordova town.
Rep. Radaza’s wife shares his sentiment. She said it has been her husband’s dream to turn the city into a province.
She said her husband will help their daughter fulfill that dream if she is voted into Congress on 2013.
Sitoy, who plans to run for reelection as mayor, is hurling a number of cases against Salud, who recently filed his candidacy for mayor of Cordova town.
