Ex-dad resigns from CH post

CITING political reasons, former Cebu City councilor Nestor Archival has resigned from his post as chairman of the Technical Working Group (TWG) for the City’s Bus Rapid Transit Project (BRT).
Archival submitted his resignation to the BRT Project Management Office last Oct. 10. His resignation became effective that day.
In his one-page letter, Archival told Mayor Michael Rama that he is relinquishing his post because of the political developments in the city.
Running again
“Much that I want to be with you (Rama) in your journey to public service… political wave has prompted me to decide for a break. Discernment has been done on my part for it would be hurting to leave the work which I do best,” he said.
Archival is running again for city councilor in the north district for the 2013 midterm elections under the ticket of Bando Osmeña Pundok Kauswagan headed by Rama’s rival, Rep. Tomas Osmeña (Cebu City, south district).
“It has been an honor and a privilege working under your administration as one of your consultants. The trust and confidence in appointing me as chairman of the TWG for the BRT have enhanced my skills and knowledge,” Archival told Rama.
“I always admire your virtue of humility, kind hearted and dedication to your work. I do believe with such virtues vis-à-vis competent and responsible staff, you will go a long way for a public servant life,” he said, referring to the mayor.
No replacement yet
It was in October 2010 when Rama designated Archival as head of the TWG for the BRT project.
Archival’s appointment followed after Nigel Paul Villarete, former head of the City Planning and Development Office, was designated as general manager of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority.
The mayor has yet to designate his replacement.
City Traffic Operations Management Executive Director Atty. Rafael Yap currently presides over meetings of the TWG.
