Wake
Insp. Wilfredo Tautoan, the town police chief, told Sun.Star Cebu that Quintero, together with his family, was on his way to attend a neighbor’s wake.
When Quintero stepped outside his house in Sitio Saksak at 7:50 p.m., lightning struck followed by a thunder.
The victim’s 21-year-old wife Rodelysa then saw her husband fall on the ground.
She realized that Quintero was hit.
Tautoan said they had been experiencing intermittent rain showers for the last few days with thunder and lightning.
“It was ill-fated,” he said in Cebuano.
Last Sept. 21, a lightning killed a man after it struck the seawaters off Barangay Gairan, Bogo City.
Jessie Sam, 31, was foraging seashells, with his father, when he was hit by the lightning.
