Man killed, 4 others wounded in shooting, stabbing incidents

A MAN was killed while four others were wounded in separate shooting and stabbing incidents in Cebu Province last Friday and Saturday.
The first incident was in Barangay Moabog, Pilar, Camotes Island past 4 p.m. on Friday where two neighbors stabbed each other over a land dispute.
Barangay officials were inspecting the disputed lot when suddenly the parties argued and later got into a fight.
Edilberto Coraza Jr., 51, and Ricky Llano, 39, sustained stab wounds in their stomachs.
SPO3 Jaime Otadoy of Pilar Police Station said Coraza and Llano were brought to the municipal health center.
In San Remegio town, an operation officer and inspector of a security agency were allegedly shot by a security guard inside a cellular site in Barangay Anapog late Friday night.
Leonito Elorde, 52, of Barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City and Edgar Lugay, 42, of Barangay Lahug, Cebu City sustained a single gunshot wound each in their pelvis. They both work for Tri Gold Security Agency.
PO3 Jose Ylanan of San Remigio Police Station said that at 11:35 p.m. Elorde and Lugay were filling the for security guard Fernando Paciño, 50, because of work discrepancy.
Paciño suddenly appeared and without provocation shot the victims.
Paciño surrendered to the police, together with the .45 pistol he used in the crime.
In Sitio Awayan, Barangay Poblacion 3, Carcar City, Leonil Labar was gunned down by an unidentified assailant at 2:30 p.m. yesterday.
SPO4 Jorame Tanudtanud of Carcar City Police Station said the attack happened while Labar was on his way to his rented apartment.
The gunman, clad in a sweatshirt on board a motorcycle, tailed behind Labar, alighted from the vehicle and opened fire.
Labar sustained gunshot wounds in his head and shoulders.
“No one knows him (Labar). He has been staying in the area for only four days,” Tanudtanud said.
Police recovered Labar’s BIR ID from his pocket. He is reportedly a native of Negros Oriental.
