TWO were killed while five others were injured in a series of shooting and stabbing incidents in Cebu City last Sunday.

Yolando Alcibar, 41, member of the Integrated Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team, was shot dead in Barangay Sto. Niño on Sunday night.

The initial investigation of the Homicide Section of the Cebu City Police office (CCPO) said the suspects could be teenagers.

SPO4 Rey Cuyos, Homicide investigator, said there were eight teenagers who were allegedly involved in Alcibar’s killing.

Cuyos said the victim was reportedly chasing about three suspected snatchers on foot.

One of the suspects boarded a bicycle, with four companions, stopped the victim and confronted him.

Then one of the assailants shot the victim once. The suspect reportedly fired a shot into the air then fled.

Alcibar died due to a gunshot wound on his mouth.

In a separate incident, Rodelante Esoto Vallespin, 39, was also stabbed dead in Barangay Lorega, San Miguel.

The incident happened at 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

Investigation showed the victim was lying dead on a chair with multiple stab wounds on different parts of the body.

Witnesses alleged that they heard Vallespin yell, “Agay! Agay!”

When the neighbors checked the victim’s house, they saw Vallespin already dead.

Meanwhile, a 12-year-old boy was injured after he was accidentally shot from the firearm of PDEA agent Leo Vincent Morales in Barangay Tinago.

The incident happened at 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

John was reportedly sitting beside Morales at the back of a parked multicab.

Morales, who suspected John of being a thief, reportedly asked the victim several things.

After talking, Morales reportedly took his 9mm pistol and tried to lock it, but the firearm reportedly fired hitting John, who was still beside him.

John was rushed to the hospital while Morales was arrested by the responding police.
