Minibus falls off cliff; 13 injured

A MINI bus driver and 12 passengers were injured when the vehicle they were riding fell into a two-meter deep cliff in Barangay Tabunok in Sogod, Cebu last Wednesday morning.
PO3 Jose Hortilano of the Sogod Police Station said the accident happened past 9 a.m. while the mini-bus (license plate GWX-618) was on its way to Borbon town. The mini-bus came from Cebu City.
Hortilano identified the driver as Cerecio Montecillo and his passengers were: Aida Moniba, 57; Irene Good, 20; Jose Pepito, 28; Grecio Monte, 35; Jane Collante, 18; Joan Good, 19; Quirino Monisit, 56; Edelyn Yballe, 19; Elver Rosella, 19; Lorena Senora, 33; Edwin Leung, 49; and Arnel Dongallo, 39.
“Uwan-uwan man gud unya da-ngog kaayo ang dalan (It was raining and the road was slippery),” Hortilano said.
Residents who saw the incident rushed the victims to Juan Dosado Memorial Hospital in Barangay Damolog.
Hortilano said the police is still investigating the incident to determine if Montecillo would be charged of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple physical injuries.
