TWO persons died in separate stabbing incidents in Cebu in the last two days.
Last Monday, a barangay councilor was stabbed dead in Barangay Tubod, Badian around 3 p.m.
The victim was identified as 48-year-old Rubino Salvador.
Salvador was attending a gathering at a neighbor’s house. Suspect Nicholas Perez Jr. was eating near the suspect.
Drunken altercation
According to the investigation of the Badian Police Station, Salvador, who was drunk, suddenly took the microphone from Perez, messing up the latter’s plate in the process.
This irked Perez, who allegedly took out a blade and stabbed Salvador once in the chest before fleeing on foot.
The victim was rushed to the Badian District Hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.
Four hours later, the suspect surrendered to the police and admitted killing Salvador.
Perez, who is detained in the Badian Police Stockade, will be charged with homicide.
Yesterday, a man was stabbed by his co-worker while sleeping in Barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City.
Motive
The incident happened around 2:30 a.m.
The victim was identified as Rolly Alerta, while the suspect was identified as Eric Goraga.
According to their co-worker Dominggo Rabias, they were all asleep when he woke up and saw the suspect approach Alerta and then stabbed the latter in the chest and left arm.
Alerta was rushed to the St. Vincent General Hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.
The suspect was later arrested and is detained in the Cebu City Police Office stockade.
Rabias said the two men got into a heated argument last Oct. 27, but their employer was able to patch up their differences.
