CEBU (Updated) -- University officials heard the plea of their female college student, who figured in a sex video scandal, to continue her studies and graduate.

In an official statement released Thursday morning, university officials said the school was already steps ahead in helping the person involved – even before the controversy reached the media.

“An arrangement where she, as a graduating student, would be able to report to her professors outside of class for lessons was then reached. She was allowed to continue her internship. Her thesis defense was scheduled and will proceed on the date set by her professor,” the statement read.

The university also said that once she is able to complete the academic requirements of her course and complied with necessary procedure for graduation, she will graduate.

Meanwhile, the institution warned those who “will show disrespect or physically harm any of their student, faculty, and personnel” either “online or in real time.”

The school also urged their students, faculty and personnel who find themselves harassed, disrespected or bullied to take photographic recording or video evidence that will identify the perpetrator for easier prosecution under the law.

“The school is ready, willing and able to provide legal assistance through lawyers from our prestigious School of Law and counselors from our very capable Department of Psychology to those who brings forth a complaint,” according to the statement.

Earlier, the university instructed its students not to wear their uniforms starting Tuesday, to keep them from being bullied or embarrassed.

But in a recent announcement, the school ordered their students to wear their uniforms again starting Monday, February 11, 2013.

The video, allegedly shot two years ago, shows two students having sex. In one clip, the girl wears her college uniform and ID. (BJA/JAC/Sunnex)
