A GROUP from South Korea has completed an initial study on the Cebu trans-axial study.
The technical group visited Gov. Hilario Davide III last Monday.
The technical group was accompanied by Rep. Benhur Salimbangon (Cebu, fourth district), who plans to file a bill for the implementation of the road that will connect the southern and northern ends of the province.
Salimbangon said the technical group from South Korea was in Cebu for one week to gather data for a feasibility study on the P50-million project.
The technical group belongs to a firm that is owned and controlled by the South Korean Government.
Salimbangon proposed the trans-axial highway project to the South Koreans.
Salimbangon said the project, first proposed by the late vice governor Gregorio Sanchez Jr., may be constructed under the build-operate-transfer scheme.
The congressman said he admired the highways in South Korea, which he saw during a visit.
He said that if the South Korean technical group will favor the project, it will conduct a full-blown study for six months to one year.
Provincial Board member and daughter of the deceased vice governor Grecilda Sanchez-Zaballero met the South Korean group at the governor’s office.
