A 50-YEAR-OLD piggery owner was shot dead by two unidentified men in Barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City last Aug. 14.
Police identified the victim as Demetrio Maribao, a married resident of Purok Kalinga, Soong I, Barangay Mactan.
PO2 Giancarlo Jocutan of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office Homicide Section said Maribao was seen drinking with two men at the back of his piggery.
Maribao’s brother-in-law, Jonas Malingin, 22, told police he heard three gunshots around 6:30 p.m.
When Malingin, who lives nearby, went to the back of the piggery, he saw Maribao’s bloodied body on the ground and the two men fleeing on a white motorcycle.
Malingin said the gunman wore a black jacket while the driver wore a bull cap.
Homicide investigators recovered two slugs and three empty shells from a .45 pistol.
Jocutan said Maribao, who suffered a gunshot wound in his neck and another one in his right arm, was brought to a hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
