MANILA -- Government may need some P83 million to rehabilitate at least 86 classrooms in schools in Cebu province following Tuesday's magnitude 7.2 quake that hit Central Visayas.
The Department of Education (DepEd) said this may entail some P83 million, state-run Philippine Information Agency (PIA) reported Thursday.
It cited a DepEd report that said "86 classrooms in Cebu need rehabilitation (with an) estimated cost (of) P83 million."
The PIA said inspections showed cracks on walls and flooring, and "dismantled" parts of the ceiling in affected Cebu schools.
Cracks on walls and columns were found at Tulang Elementary School in San Francisco town in Cebu, it added. (JK/Sunnex)
