A 22-YEAR-OLD cashier was stabbed dead while taking a bath in an artesian well a few meters from her house in Barangay Looc, Lapu-Lapu City.
The police identified the victim as Stella Marie Tumulak, a cashier at a gas station in Cebu City.
Initial police investigation revealed that Tumulak woke up at 4:30 a.m. and proceeded to an artesian well at the back of her cousin’s house on P. Rodriguez St.
An hour later, Tumulak’s aunt Grace, heard her shout for help. When Grace turned on the lights and looked out the window, she saw her niece lying on the ground, bleeding.
Grace called Tumulak’s mother and they came to her aid. They rushed Tumulak to the Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital but she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Tumulak sustained stab wounds in different parts of her body, including her neck and back. No bladed weapon was recovered from the crime scene.
The police are searching for the victim’s live-in partner, who frequently quarreled with her because of jealousy, according to her mother and relatives.
He left their house and did not answer phone calls from the police.
