Burglars ran off with P1M in jewelry during All Souls’ Day-A A +A

TWO houses in Cebu City lost P1 million worth of jewelry in burglaries that took place during All Saints’ Day.
The first incident happened at San Antonio Village in Barangay Apas, where two unidentified men took away P700,000 worth of jewelry.
Senior Insp. William Alicaba, chief of Cebu City Police Office’s Theft and Robbery Section (TRS), said Eleanor Lee, 35, discovered the incident at 8:30 a.m. when she came back home.
She found out the jewelry box kept in the master bedroom was missing.
Inside the box were P200,000 worth of diamond earrings; P150,000 worth of diamond bracelets; P100,000 worth of Italian and Chinese gold necklaces, P150,000 worth of ruby and jade earrings and necklaces; and P100,000 worth of pendants.
Alicaba said the suspects entered the house by climbing the wall and barging in through the bathroom by destroying its window.
From there, the suspects went inside the master bedroom and took the jewelry box.
Alicaba said Lee was at the cemetery that time.
A closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera was installed in the neighborhood and is now being looked by police.
The second incident took place in Barangay Kasambagan where a house lost P300,000 worth of jewelry.
Police said Maria Theresa Adame, 35, found out about the incident at 6 p.m. after she came back from the cemetery.
She lost a Chinese gold necklace worth P60,000; Chinese gold bracelets worth P95,000; seven earring worth P9,000; seven bracelets worth P14,000; bracelet with pendant worth P30,000; Chinese gold stone worth P32,000; bracelet with named Trishia worth P8,000; five Singaporean riz jewelry worth P15,000; and five Chinese gold necklace worth P45,000.
During an ocular inspection, police found that the suspect had detached a blade from the jalousie window and entered Adame’s room.
