ABOUT P200,000 worth of suspected shabu were confiscated by a joint team of police operatives in an buy-bust in Barangay Poog, Toledo City, Cebu last Friday afternoon.
Christianino Trazona, who was the subject of the operation, however, eluded arrest.
His alleged cohort Michael Okan was caught by the police.
The operatives of the Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (RAIDSOTG) of the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 and Provincial Intelligence Branch of the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) conducted the anti-illegal drug drive at 4:30 p.m. outside Trazona’s house.
Senior Insp. Henrix Bancoleta of the RAIDSOTG alleged that Trazona is a level two drug pusher, who could dispose at least 200 grams of shabu per week.
A police poseur-buyer bought a large pack of shabu worth P100,000 by using a boodle money. It was Okan who allegedly handed over the item to the police.
He was arrested after the deal. Another large pack of shabu was allegedly recovered from his possession.
Trazona, on the other hand, was nowhere to be found when the police operatives went inside his house.
Okan, who is detained at the Waterfront Police Station while waiting for the charges to be filed against him, was reportedly uncooperative during a tactical interrogation.
Okan will be charged with selling and possession of shabu tomorrow.
Apart from allegedly selling drugs in Toledo, Bancoleta said Trazona also reportedly operates in the City of Naga and in Minglanilla town.
According to the information that reached Bancoleta’s team, Trazona may have gone hiding to a cave, which the latter allegedly used as a hideout and a drug den.
Bancoleta said a follow-up operation is being conducted to verify the information.
Last Thursday, a suspected female drug peddler, 43, was also arrested by RAIDSOTG in the same barangay.
Bancoleta considered Barangay Poog as a drug-infested village because of the presence of many alleged drug pushers operating in the area.
