TWO died and two others were wounded in a strafing incident in Balamban, Cebu late Friday night.
SPO1 Jose Villarino, investigator of Balamban Police Station, said three of the victims were reportedly engaged in a card game called bulitse in Barangay Nangka past 11 p.m., while the other one was playing computer games.
The fatalities were identified as Ernel Bucag, 21, and Rey Toong, 20, who were both residents of the area.
Bucag died before receiving treatment at Balamban District Hospital while Toong didn’t make it alive at a hospital in Cebu City.
Clint Estan, 24, and his cousin Rhembran Estan, 19, sustained gunshot wounds.
Initial investigation showed the assailants suddenly arrived on a blue Honda XRM motorcycle and fired at the victims.
Clint was hit after Bucag ran near the establishment where he was playing computer games. The bullet tore through the wall and hit him.
The suspects, who were seen wearing helmets and jackets, immediately fled from the area.
Villarino, when interviewed by Sun.Star Cebu, said they are looking into personal grudge as motive of the attack.
He said the victims, except for Clint, were known to be gamblers in their area. They also allegedly use drugs.
