CRIMINAL charges have been filed against the nursing graduate who was arrested last week for allegedly prostituting a minor.
Cebu City Assistant Prosecutor Rodulph Joseph Carillo charged Eul Vicent Rodriguez for violating Republic Act 9208, or the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003.
No bail was set for Rodriguez's temporary liberty.
Rodriguez was arrested in an entrapment operation at an upscale hotel in Cebu City after he accepted P10,000 from a law enforcement officer who pretended to be a customer who wanted to hire 14-year-old Roy (real name withheld) for sexual services.
Roy said he and Rodriguez became friends in September 2012.
The nursing graduate, a homosexual male, brought the boy to a videoke house in Barangay Tangke, Talisay City where they ate and drank.
In 2013, Rodriguez allegedly started bringing the minor to an Internet cafe where he asked Roy to do online nude shows.
Rodriguez has been monitored by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement since December 2013 for his alleged involvement in cyberporn.
Roy said Rodriguez made him do online nude shows more than 20 times.
The minor was paid between P100 and P600, depending on the payment of clients.
“There was also a time when (Rodriguez) and his boyfriend Nash did a show but (suspect) told me to go out because what they were doing was explicit,” Roy said in his affidavit.
On Feb. 5, 2014, Rodriguez allegedly brought Roy to an Internet cafe and showed the boy the online profile of an American who was looking for a young male.
Rodriguez and Roy were supposed to meet the foreigner, who became a Facebook friend of the accused, on Feb. 13, 2014 at the upscale Cebu City hotel.
They went inside the American's hotel room where they ate and drank beer.
The Regional Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force conducted the entrapment operation at the hotel against Rodriguez after getting a tip from the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The police said Rodriguez took advantage of the victim's vulnerability and exploited him in exchange for money.
