Workers who helped in Sinulog to get cash-A A +A

THE Cebu City Government has set aside P2.9 million as cash incentives to 1,495 employees of City Hall who helped in the preparation and cleanup operation of this year’s Sinulog celebration.
Each employee will receive P2,000.
They are mostly loaders, drivers, heavy equipment operators, metro aides, garbage collectors, traffic aides, traffic enforcers, members of the parks and playgrounds commission and the Probe (Prevention, Restoration, Order, Beautification, Enhancement).
These employees helped the City prepare the Devotee City and clean the city after the Sinulog grand parade until morning.
The giving of incentives is based on the resolution passed by the City’s Program on Awards Incentive for Service Excellence (Praise) committee headed by Engr. Eugene Elizalde.
The committee, in a one-page resolution, said the employees deserve to be given cash incentives considering that they were able to clean the city’s streets, particularly those part of the carousel route, of 170 tons of garbage right after the Sinulog.
The City Council, during their March 26 regular session, approved Councilor Sisinio Andales’ resolution on the giving of incentives to the employees.
“It is fitting to acknowledge the contribution of the City Government employees who executed their assigned work well during and after the Sinulog,” the councilor said.
The P2.9 million needed for the incentives is charged under the P10.2 million City Sponsored Activities account, which is covered under the P5.89 billion budget of the City for this year.
