FOUR people were killed, including a five-year-old boy, while two others were injured in separate road accidents involving mini buses in the province last Saturday.

The first accident happened in Barangay Palanas, Ronda, Cebu past 9 a.m. James Requilme, five, of Barangay Pulpogan, Consolacion died in the accident.

Police investigation showed the victim was playing with his sibling when he suddenly crossed the road and got hit by a white Fuso Reefer van driven by Jezelito Cuevas, 35.

PO3 Pepo Ansag of the Ronda Police Station said Requilme was on a vacation with his family in Ronda. The van (WQC-349) loaded with fish came from Dumaguete City and was on its way to Cebu City.

He said that Cuevas was released from police custody yesterday after both parties reached an amicable settlement.

An hour later, a motorcycle hit a passenger mini bus in Barangay Tubod, Barili. The driver was killed while his two relatives were wounded.

Police identified the casualty as Noel Torino, 19, of Barangay Gunting, Barili. The injured victims were 12-year-old Rose May Torino and Fatima Torino, seven.

The accident happened when Noel, who was driving a Motoposh 125 motorcycle, attempted to get past a Rough Riders mini bus in a curved lane. Both vehicles were bound for Cebu City.

But the motorcycle hit a green Isuzu Elf bus (GWJ-176) driven by Dick Oraga, 29, of Barangay Minolos, Barili, causing the victims to fall on the road.

They were rushed to Barili District Hospital, but Noel died on the way there. The mini bus driver surrendered to police right after the accident.

Meanwhile, two men died after the motorcycle they were riding collided with a mini bus in Barangay Maño, San Remigio at 3:35 p.m.

Initial investigation conducted by SPO1 Manolo Jo showed that Rulf Marvel Rosellosa lost control of the XRM Honda motorcycle he was driving while negotiating a blind curve.

It collided with an Isuzu Elf mini bus (YLK-837) driven by Randy Felicano, 25, that was traveling on the opposite direction.

Rosellosa got pinned under the bus while his backrider Josephino Gesta Jr. was thrown several meters away. They were declared dead upon arrival at the Cebu Provincial Hospital in Bogo City.

Felicano of Barangay Dapdap, San Remigio surrendered to police and may face charges for reckless imprudence resulting to double homicide.
