House, pizza outlet in Punta burglarized, couple arrested-A A +A

TWO persons were arrested for allegedly breaking into a house and a pizza outlet last Friday dawn in Barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City.
The first to be burglarized was the Alberto’s Pizza branch on F. Llamas St.
The burglars ran away with P80,000 cash and P140,000 worth of gadgets.
According to SPO3 Jelson Solebio, the burglary might have happened between 2:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.
According to the manager of Alberto’s Pizza, Flores Carranzo, 60, they discovered the door to the store destroyed.
The thieves fled with four cellular phones worth P10,000; an iPhone worth P40,000; an iPad worth P20,000; and a laptop worth P70,000.
Burglars also broke into a house located nearby, running off with almost P60,000 worth of jewelry.
The house is owned by Letecia delos Reyes, 45, who was reportedly out of town.
Solebio said the victim’s nephew reported to the police that the master bedroom of delos Reyes’s house was damaged.
Jessa Mae Lopez, a neighbor, reportedly saw two persons inside the house of delos Reyes.
The two were later identified as Wendell Tampipi, 35, and his live-in partner Daisy Jane Valle, 27.
The items recovered from the couple were a Sony PSP amounting to P10,000; Seiko wristwatch worth P8,000; Fossil watch worth P11,000; Cromu force watch worth P15,000; Citizen watch worth P2,000; Cronia watch amounting to P11,000; three cellular phones worth P12,000; and four earrings worth P5,000.
Delos Reyes identified the items to be hers.
Punta Princesa Police Chief Michael Angelo Beltran said they are investigating if the two burglaries were committed by the same persons.
He said they will check if there are security cameras in the area.
The two suspects denied burglarizing the Alberto’s pizza.
They are detained at the Punta Princesa Police Station. (JTR)
