A MEMBER of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) 7 shot a man who allegedly fired at him in Barangay Talamban, Cebu City.
Police Insp. Delfin Bontuyan said his neighbor Emmanuel Rabor woke him up shortly after midnight yesterday to seek his help.
Rabor told him that Josefino Complitado had run amok and was pelting rocks at houses in their neighborhood in Sitio Kalubihan.
Rabor said Complitado broke his window jalousies.
Bontuyan said he arrived at the scene around 1 a.m. He introduced himself as a policeman and urged Complitado to calm down and surrender.
Complitado reportedly got wilder. He allegedly fired at Bontuyan, but missed.
Bontuyan said he was forced to shoot Complitado in the lower portion of the body to incapacitate him.
A .38 revolver with four live ammunitions was recovered from Complitado, who was taken to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.
Bontuyan will be detained at the CIDG 7 stockade while awaiting charges.
Aside from Rabor, there are four other victims whose houses were damaged and are reportedly willing to press charges against Complitado, a native of Tabuelan, Cebu.
