Old police station used for cops’ trysts?-A A +A

THE Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 will investigate the old police station at Fuente Osmeña after receiving a report that some personnel bring women there.
Supt. Pablo Labra II, PRO 7 Regional Intelligence Division (RID) acting chief, said he directed Supt. Rex Derilo, deputy chief of RID, to look into the issue.
The old police station was vacated in 2011 after Police Station 2, formerly known as Fuente Police Station, was transferred to a new building located across PRO 7 on Osmeña Blvd.
Police Station 2 Chief Wildemar Tiu denied the report that the old police station has been converted into a motel where some police personnel meet up with women.
He said police personnel check on the building, which is not locked, from time to time. The building, he added, is used as police command post if there are activities at the Fuente Osmeña oval.
Tiu said, though, that he heard that some bystanders stay in the old police station.
He suggested that the building be locked to prevent unauthorized access. He said the police do not have the authority to lock the building, which is reportedly owned by the Provincial Government.
Labra said that if some police personnel are found to use the old police station for purposes that are not related to their official duties, they will be made to face administrative charges.
“Ato sa gitan-aw kay basin girlfriend o asawa lang nila niduaw didto (But we need to investigate because maybe their wife or girlfriend went there to visit),” he told Sun.Star Cebu.
Police Station 2 moved to a P16-million three-story building donated by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chong Hua Hospital, in cooperation with the Cebu City Government and the PNP.
