Shabu worth ‘P1.5M’ seized-A A +A

CEBU CITY - Suspected shabu reportedly worth almost P1.5 million and illegal gambling machines were confiscated in a saturation drive conducted by the City Intelligence Branch (CIB) of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) in Barangays Calamba, Ermita and Pasil last Wednesday night.
The CIB, in cooperation with the San Nicolas Police Station, seized three big packs and five medium packs of shabu in Calamba.
Aside from the illegal drugs, 38 video carrera and moli-moli machines were also seized in Ermita and Pasil.
Arrested during the operation was Richard Nabua.
CIB Chief Romeo Santander said that when they arrived in Calamba, they saw Nabua flee.
They went after him. They finally had him cornered inside a house in the area.
Seized from Nabua was a .45 pistol. Police also found three big packs and five medium packs containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu with an estimated street value of around P1.5 million in the house.
Police still have who owns the house.
In another development, 47 operatives from the Talamban Police Station, 54 operatives from the Punta Princesa Police Station and 53 operatives from the Waterfront Police Station underwent surprise drug tests yesterday.

They all tested negative.
The surprise drug test was headed by Senior Supt. Condrad Capa, regional deputy chief for administration, and Senior Supt. Noli Romana, CCPO chief.
During the drug tests, Romana, who visited the police stations, also had himself tested.
“This is only the first of many surprised drug test that will be conducted in the city. Dapat lahat ng (It should be that all) police stations will undergo drug test, but of course it will be unannounced,” he said.
