Status

LET me rant this time. And let me rant about certain people in Facebook. Like most of humanity, I also have a Facebook account. I actually have two. One is private and the other is a free-for-all thing. In my private account are my family and my close circle of friends. In my other account as the name suggests it is a free-for-all scenario. As long as I know you, I will accept your friend request. I seldom ASK for friend requests but if we know each other, then by all means join the fray!

I also have a Twitter account. And my Twitter account like my first Facebook account is also private.

The net is a very open thing and so many people and things lurk out there. That is why you need to be careful. But the worrying part does not bother me. What gets me is the irritating part. Let me explain.

There are several things that irritate me about certain people in both Facebook and Twitter. The first category of people is composed of those who sound very trying hard. They tweet or type in their status, Hey I am at (name of place), great coffee. Or I am at (name of place again), gee whiz, really awesome! That is irritating. That is lame. Whenever I read tweets like that or messages at Facebook, I cringe and silently say, who cares? Really who cares whether you are in this mall or this restaurant or this coffee shop.

WHO CARES? In fact, you better be careful about sending the information into the net because someone who may not like you might just go to where you are and attack you! Or someone might just kidnap you.

But then again, people who are truly wealthy or "kidnappable" will not willingly say where they are. Or are trying hard. Going to this coffee shop would be normal to these people that they need not make announcements!

I mean really why would you broadcast to the entire universe where you are? Really, why do it? There is only one reason why people do that. They want everyone else to know it. Why? Your guess is as good as mine. Suggestion: Please stop it. One, no one really cares. Two: It sounds so pitiful. Three: It really sounds pathetic.

The second kind of status I hate is when people say what they ate! Yes Maria, there are actually people who write what they ate or what they intend to eat. They go like, just had banana que! Lami kaayo. Or ate rice with adobo, yum yum! As before, WHO CARES? And it gets worse because there are also people out there who reply to those inane comments. "Just had banana que! Lami kaayo." Then the idiot friend goes, " Uy lami gyud na! Naglaway an ko!" Then someone adds, "bitaw, lami ang saging, labi na kung turon!" In the immortal words of Senator Santiago: Wah? And when you think that it will not get worse, it does. Because now you combine the food and the place! Example:

"Am at (name of restaurant) am having their chocolate cake! Yummy, slurp slurp."

Reply: "Wow girl, Sosyal ka. And yes, I like their choco cake! Suuuuper delicious! Try their carrot muffin!"

Comment: (Why would you eat a carrot muffin when you just had the choco cake!)

Reply: "Mao ba? Sige Try nako!) Gawas ang tinuod!

And the third kind of person that gets into my nerves are those who tell the world they are pissed, mad or whatever. Example:

"Naglagot kaayo sa iyaha, pagka bastos na lang. Murag walay edukasyon, guba adlaw nako. I am so maaad."

"Easy lang pare."

"Lagi, easy man ko, pero makalagot lang kanang tawhana! He just makes me mad."

"Ano yare? Text ka."

"Hahaha, wala lang gani, inis lang ako."

Really, again, who cares? I guess we can all bring them together, place, food and feeling.

Example:

"Guess what? I am here at (name of place). Am having their pansit! And guess what, it is so bad, grabe pagka way lami, Sayang lang bayad nako, grabe I am so mad, I feel so cheated and I will never ever eat here again. "

You know what? Good for you! And yes, who cares if you are the most horrible pansit the world has ever seen. You probably deserve it!

End of rant! Have a good day everyone!
