‘Pusher’ killed in drug raid

Saturday, August 12, 2017

A SUSPECTED street-level drug pusher who allegedly sold shabu to students was killed when he allegedly tried to shoot at anti-narcotics agents in Banilad, Cebu City last Friday evening.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Central Visayas (PDEA) 7 identified the target as Ronie “Agaw” Abellanosa.

“He based his drug operations near a school where most of his users included students, habal-habal drivers and call center agents,” Leia Albiar, PDEA 7 spokesperson said.

The drug bust stemmed from reports of barangay officials of Abellanosa’s alleged illegal drug activities. Reports from residents said that Abellanosa was a subject of numerous police raids but he always managed to escape.

Abellanosa was killed when he tried to pull out his gun during the transaction after sensing that he was dealing with a police decoy at 6:20 p.m.

Recovered from his possession were 25 grams of shabu with a market value of P125,400, drug-sniffing paraphernalia and a .357 Smith and Wesson revolver loaded with five live bullets. (JOB)
